Totally dissapointed in PS3 version
This game really sucked. How in the world can this game be worse than the PS2 version in graphics and in gameplay? First of all, the faces are not real. The animations aren't fluid. Plus, it reminds me of that ESPN football game that came out a in 2004. I was so dissapointed, I actually wrote ESPN a letter telling them to change the game or it won't sell like it should. I took this game back and unless they change the game, I will never by another Madden game, again.

Still waiting for AI(ntelligence), not AC(heating)
Good: Good graphics, fun game play, lots of features

Bad: Occasional slowdown, brutally cheap AI, too big of disparity between rookie and pro, too many turnovers, sluggish response (snapping ball, passing, switching players), they must have exhausted the budget prior to programming sideline graphics. The sideline players look and behave like cheerleaders.

Rocks up the feild
This game is so freakin fun. I love it because it is not some stupid game were the feild looks chesey and the crowd dosen't look like dots. So make sure to get this game because it freakin rocks.

Choppy framerate and lack of presentation ruin this game.
After years of having the exclusive license, EA continues to publish a really stripped down, poor quality football experience. Instead of the broadcast quality play by play every other sports title has offered for years, Madden continues to feature very generic "radio style" commentary.
The graphics are decent but nothing incredible. The extremely choppy framerate on the PS3 version of Madden completely ruins the presentation and the gameplay. There are multiple instances where it will drop frames while you're trying to kick a field goal or throw the ball, throwing off your timing for the action and ruining the play. This is a problem that should have been addressed during development instead of released to the market at full price.

One small feature which I used to enjoy was having the computer play against itself. NFL 2K5 did this especially well, it actually looked and sounded like an NFL broadcast. It's not essential by any stretch, but I also didn't think it was a feature that needed to be removed from Madden, which it now has.

In the end it's unbelievable EA even shipped this game. I never thought I would say it but I look forward to a non-NFL football game which has at least the quality of NFL 2K5 (unfortunately All-Pro Football 2K8 wasn't it). EA has proven with five especially bad Madden releases in a row that they aren't going to deliver a good NFL game anytime soon.

RUSHED IT
First off...There is NO other game that I am this picky about. My Madden gaming experience is important to me, because there is no other game that dominates my free time like Madden does.

Team Madden dropped the ball on this one.
I'll be the first person asking for something new in the bells and whistles department...but DANG! When the bells and whistles get so loud that you can't hear the fun stuff going on behind `em, you have a problem. The championship ring thing is just ridiculous! If I ever see someone "sporting" one of those things, I'm calling `em out in public for being a world class loser. Seriously, to think you actually accomplished something by playing a video game is one huge indicator for a serious need for counseling. I mean...i like video games too, but get real.

My beloved Franchise Mode is now so freaking involved that I hardly felt like bothering with it. Why mess up a good thing with a bunch of extra crap that you now have to track? I don't know anyone that wants to waste HOURS just setting up a game unless there's some incredible gameplay involved afterwards. And thats just it...there isn't even "OK" gameplay once you hit the field. I know I'm not the only person that still feels like my players are ice-skating down the sideline when I actually got a chance to break a long run, or feels like they're not really in control of their runningback inside. I just hit some buttons and pray...you don't set up cuts anymore on Madden, you just hope that things work out. That's lame EA!

Save your money people! If you don't have a backwards compatible PS3...get one. Then buy Madden 08 for PS2. You'll get a more natural feel to the gameplay, and thereby have a much more fun and satisfying gaming experience.

PS,

Don't get me started about how horrible the defensive side of the ball feels on this rip-off of a game!
