These containers really work and don't leak. So far my clever 2 1/2 year old hasn't figured out how to open them or pry open the lids yet. However, I do store the paint in them and keep the box on top of the refrigerator. She is just learning how to use a paint brush and said "artwork" for the first time when she wanted me to get the paints out for her. We usually go outside in the grass on a blanket and I don't have to worry about any mess. I recommend not using the chubby paint brushes with the cups a bit thinner ones will fit better and come in a pack of 4 instead of 3.

Maybe nobody else is as goofy as me, but I thought this product had paint in it. The containers I received are wonderful for their purpose. They are perfect for toddlers and young children to use for painting. But if you are giving them as a gift, don't forget to give them some paint to put in them. :)
