| Gimmick, buy the toughest tension you can and it probably still won't be tough enough. |
Honestly. I just let 3 common females close the "HEAVY TENSION" and they did it easy, my 40+ year old mom can close it multiple times no problem and she is about below average strength, IT IS WAY TOO EASY, BUY THE TOUGHEST ONE FIRST IF YOU WANT ONE. I did have a long review wrote but its deleted since i got 3 non-exercising people, that is a girl and 2 old women to close it easily multiple times. Also its made of "TOO MUCH PLASTIC", although i am surprised that it did not fall apart, still i think it would be good for building endurance, so its a 6 out of 10, they tried, and i think they pretty much failed. I think "Captains of Crush" would be better for brute force strength, but i have not tried one yet. |

| Great product |
I use the red and black versions. Got the blue for the wife or kids to try.
Pay attention to the recommendations. 5lb.(blue) to 7 lb. (red) is a big difference...same with 2 lbs. more for the black.
Very worthwhile to have a few of these around to grab and use while on the PC or watching TV. |

| great little product |
I'm an athletic female that wanted to improve finger strength. I got the blue model and when I got it I thought it was too light for me. After a short series of reps on my right hand, though, I realized it is the perfect resistance for me for more reps. My left hand struggles a bit more, but the blue isn't too much for it--I just can't do nearly as many reps. Great little product that comes with easy to follow directions on a large variety of exercises targeting certain muscle groups in the wrist and hand. Great for improving everything from trigger pulls to guitar playing to handshakes. |

| WARNING! Two different handles: 1 good, 1 bad. |
A friend has the blue (light tension) with the larger, more ergonomic handle. I bought the red one from Isokinetics (best price with shipping). Mine showed up with a different handle. It's smaller and cheaper looking, and is very uncomfortable. So be warned, there are two products with identical names, but a VERY different feel in the hand.
During initial use, it's obvious the Gripmaster hand strengthener will perform as advertised. The two-layer system allows the unit to rotate when working on the index and pinkie fingers. This is a good design to minimize blisters from sliding, as on similar straight up-down devices.
The blue is light and good for busy fingers. But I was looking for finger and forearm strength, and the red still seemed light. They recommend the red (medium tension) for the "average man" and doing many repititions over fewer reps with the black (heavy tension).
I will definitely buy the black Gripmaster, as soon as I can find a seller who can assure me I'll receive the larger, more ergonomic palm rest. The comfort makes a huge difference in how long you can exercise your hand. The right model is worth the price, but the smaller one is not. It hurts to use, so it probably won't get used as much, and therefore won't be helpful.
Note: I called Isokinetics and they're accepting the return. But they couldn't assure me, if I returned for correction, that I'd receive the right handle.

| better grip |
you will strengthen your individual fingers which is what I wanted it for; one small thing is if you have fat finger it may be too hard stay on button (there is no space between them), but other than that it is a good product |
