I have spent months on the road in Africa, though in bush taxis and not on a bicycle. I have also lived as a Peace Corps Volunteer and have traveled through areas similar to some of those traveled on this trip. I love how this software has captured the textures and flavors of so much of Africa. I only wish that computer software could communicate smells and tastes. One little thing that I wasn't expecting at all was how well the bargaining compares to the real thing--and how it changes from one part of Africa to another.
One thing that is important: when I first ran the software in Windows XP, it was real little and disappointing. Make sure you set the software to run at 640x480 resolution (in the shortcut properties in Windows XP). That will make the program run full-screen and you will see it as intended. |
