SVAT GX5201 Wireless Portable Video Monitor with 2.5-Inch LCD & Night Vision Security Camera (Color)

I returned this monitor today. Two big reasons:

1> Poor design: The battery compartment contains the DC power inlet. Hence, the battery needs to be taken out every time you want to plug in DC adapter. Else, the monitor eats up four AAA rechargeable cells in 3 hours. Too much hassle to change cells so frequently. So portability is minimal due to this big design flaw. Seems someone designed it in their sleep.

2> Audio is full of static: This unit can only show ok video. Don't expect any audio from it. The static on audio is really bad. The SVAT quality control seems like a joke.

I would not advise wasting $$ on this. Not worth even $50.

This product has been a Godsend to me. Although it was designed as a baby monitor I have used it to keep track of my herd. Instead of running to the barn every 2 hours to check on pregnant does, I can check the monitor to see if there is any activity and be well prepared for it.
It has been a very useful tool and the sound alerts are also extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for peace of mind. The portability of the monitor, also makes life simpler. This product is very versatile! There is occasional disruption by using a microwave, so put the monitor in a room other than the kitchen, or keep the microwave use to a minumum when checking it. You won't be disappointed by this product!

Complete waste of money. I used to own the SUMMER video monitor but the screen kept going out. I decided to buy the SVAT 5201 and an additional camera. The picture is great....if you plan on sleeping in the same room as the camera. As soon as I left the room there was enough static to distort the picture and the static noise is so loud you can't hear anything in the camera room. I moved the camera all around my house and it never worked well at all. Also, the design stinks...you have to remove the batteries every time you want to plug it in. What a joke. I wasted over $200...don't do the same. Do not buy this unit !!

I bought this item in Amazon about 1 month ago. Unfortunatelly, although the seller sent the item on time, it came with the screen not working properly and none of the menu buttons worked as expected. Some times the video went blank or with a big vertical line in the middle. I'm outside US, so asking for a guarantee is not an easy step.

If you need a video and a Sound monitor this is definitely NOT the right Monitor (So much static that there is no place for any sound from baby), Even if a video without any sounds is OK (even though the night vision works great) I still would not prefer this monitor (static effects the video too), It is definitely not worth the money, I will never ever buy more SVAT item's.
