| Asus 7" laptop |
I received this computer about 4 days ago. I am an assistive technology specialist, and I see potential for use by students who have physical difficulty with writing. I issue laptops and portable word processors to students and was intrigued by this mini laptop. I'm not so worried about internet connection--but was able to get it working with my network with little effort. Everything I needed was preinstalled. Video from my 'flip video' camcorder(very cool and super simple to use device) plays well , as do powerpoint shows. The laptop has potential to be a good tool for some students for 'video modeling' (a teaching technique for students having more severe disabilities). I liked the laptop so much I ordered the 8gb one. I have plans to install XP (but I see Asus makes one with xp preinstalled now. That's what I get for not waiting.) Still, I am very happy with my purchase. |

| Wonderful idea and many uses |
I used amazon warehouse and got this as a refurb. It came in a timely manner and had all the information from manuals to several disks with it packaged nicely. Great price on refurb as well
I was surprised on how well i adapted to it and how it did what i wanted it to do . I was not expecting a full featured system and was pleased with how well it did the internet and how fast it found the wi fi connections in various places. While i in no way could of handled a fancy phone this was perfect for what it does. Very pleased with my Asus Eee Pc 2 g surf and very glad i tried a refurb . Thanks amazon great product and a great price ! |

| Asus Eee PC 2G Surf |
The Asus is a sweet little second computer that allows one to Google answers when watching TV or type (if you have small hands) reports anywhere. However, when I first opened mine it would not work with my AirPort Extreme. When I called for support, the first two support persons had suggestions that were way off, and didn't make any sense. The third spent 20 minutes with me, deleting, reimporting, connecting and deconnecting until I could access the web at home. About a week later when I turned on the computer, I could not access the web again. I called and I got a Chinese person with limited English who, after one computer move (i.e. accessing "Network") literally screamed at me for an answer to how many things were listed under "Type". I mean, screamed and screamed. I visualized him standing on the desk and jumping up and down. When I asked if I could talk with someone else, he said "No, call back tomorrow." I did. The person didn't know what to do, and I finally figured it out myself.
It just shouldn't be that hard. |
