Sterling Silver Heart-Shaped Mother and Child Pendant by Janel Russell, 18"

This Necklace is very small. The necklace looks like a necklace for a small child not an adult. While it is pretty it is just not made for an adult. The box it comes in is plastic inside like cheap costume jewelry. If a young child bought this for there mother I'm sure the mother would love it. But adults this is just not a gift you would feel proud giving.

I had been looking for a special necklace to give my daughter on the birth of her first baby - my first grandchild. So I looked until I thought this style was special. I think the design is quite nice - I love the heart shape that makes up the body of the mother and child pendant. Upon seeing the necklace in person, could it have been overpriced? It is sterling silver not gold. The chain is 18" long and very delicate. The pendant is lovely but small. Is it the design/designer I am paying for?
