Bought this hoping to laugh. It was occasionally slapstick funny, but so boring in between we finally gave up and turned it off. Do not recommend.

The Party is extremely funny situational commedy with the wealthy Hollywood Power Players gently liking Peter Sellers, the uninvited Indian, Sweet - non-star- with the Indian actor slowly destroying the Party, The House, and The Establishment. The Music, the Dancing, the Setting and the hilarious dinner scenes plus opther slapstick scenes are terrific works of cinema genious. No wonder Elvis loved this film so much he fles in friends for Party nights with Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches...

Peter Sellers is an absolute comedic genius in this movie. Also, the 60's era look of the film is very authentic, and adds to the comedy.
This will cause healing no matter how down one is feeling. It is laugh therapy.

Peter Sellers will forever be with us through two incredibly well done characters; Clouseau, The famous French Detective in The Pink Panther and Bakshi, the Mistaken invitee at The Party. Sellers portraying the roll of an Indian actor who misses everything but has a big heart reminds us of the wobbly French detective roll he did as Clouseau in The Pink Panther. Peter Sellers was so talented that not in one second, in my opinion, reminded us of Clouseau. He was 100% the Indian actor. The comparison comes only from the type of characters and here and only here comes the comparison with Clouseau.
