| Friendly Persuasion |
On the jacket it says "Layer transition may trigger a slight pause". Well, it's more than a "slight pause" it stops and hesitates for a quite a while. This is not acceptable with a brand new movie. It's like one that has lots of scratches. I am disappointed in the quality. |

This is one great movie! Gary Cooper at his best! Dorothy McGuire is charming and Anthony Perkins before being type-cast as a psycho is superb!
If you like James Stewart in Shenandoah then Friendly Persuasion is for you. Two great movies with similar themes. |

| A Gem |
This 1956 screen addaption of Jessimen West's short stories is still as watchable as it ever was. Lovely cinamatography, a great script and sterling perfomances AND you won't be embarrased to see it with either your mother or your children. A gem of a film ! |

| A Wonderful Movie |
I first watched this movie at a theatre in the late 1950's. I have always loved the movie and never dreamed it would be put on a DVD. The colors are just beautiful. What can you say about the late Gary Cooper. He is fantastic. |

| Very good family entertainment. |
I have watched this movie serveral times and never get tired of doing so. It a shame that more similar movies are not made today instead of the trash that is. |
