| Spiritual Ecstasy |
"Concert fo George" exceeded all of my expectations. I previously thought that the videos "Cream: Reunion Concert" and "Traffic: The Last Great Traffic Jam" were my favorites, but "Concert for George" was so much more than just a concert. It was a group of entertainers who put their egos and personnas on hold and for a few wonderfully relaxed hours, played the music of George Harrison as it was meant to be performed and as a tribute to him, his family, his God. In so doing, the concert also extended it's warmth to the actual audience and to the video audience. It was like I was in the greatest cathedral in the world exuding a strong sense of love and acceptance. I experienced this the first time I viewed it and every time I watch it. The participants are not so much "Playing" as "Praying".If you need a lift or if you are getting too caught up in your own craziness, this is the perfect antidote. |

| Are you kidding me? Buy it! |
Oh come on, I have bought this for a dozen of my friends and relatives. The beat throbs and the visuals fascinate. Actually it is much better than Harrison's originals. The only thing I regret about this disc is not being at the concert. Come on, buy this sucker and join me in a twice weekly airing. |

| For Love of George |
The version that played in the cinemas is nothing compared to the version on the video entitled "George's Band". This is hands down the best concert ever. Who would have thought of all the Beatles that the quiet one, George, could have spawned such a show? With the passing of the years and in the shadows of Lennon/McCartney, It has been easy to forget how many great songs George composed. That is until these great songs are performed with such respect and in such reverence by the likes of Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Billy Preston and many others of George's dearest friends. You won't believe what happens when egos are checked at the door and musicians of such caliber get together at the Royal Albert Hall to perform George's music with his son. It is truly remarkable. If you haven't seen "George's Band" on the DVD Concert for George you have missed the best show ever. It might bring a tear to your eye. |
