XFX MBN680ISH9 Socket LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

I have, over the many years of custom building computers, purchased many components. The number one returned component in my experience has been motherboards. My experience has also proven time and time again that a little store with expensive choices wins out over the big store with every piece of junk piled sky high. I've wasted more time and gas money returning products than I'd like to admit. This cost may as well have gone to the more expensive items to begin with! I am happy to report that my willingness to try the mega-store "Amazon" paid off in many ways. The first being the service level, second being the discount in shipping compared to other online stores, third is the excellent time to get the products (during holiday as well!), and the fourth being the quality and condition of the product received. Kudos to Amazon and their affiliates (in this case TigerDirect and Atlanta Network Technologies).

The motherboard has great architecture and went in the Cooler Master case without any problems. The directions for the SATA configuration seems to place the order of the ports backwards, but it doesn't matter if you use port 1 or 6 if you have a simple config. The drivers were easy to install and no hiccups or conflicts with other peripherals. I would recommend a Sound Blaster or equivalent card as I'm not to impressed with the realtek on-board sound. I play games that put the components to test and the on-board sound didn't make muster. That is all I can say about this motherboard that is negative.

Pros: Looks pretty.
Cons: Poor nTune overclocking, very poor motherboard pin setup
(big cable mess) Unable to change clock speeds in Bios.
Over advertised, and definitely not worth its price.
