| portable webcam |
Microsoft webcam is very good. Clear vision, easy to take anywhere, very portable, nice webcam. Customer should buy it without thinking. I am fully satisfied with this webcam. |

| Disappointing range of focus |
I bought this webcam thinking, like everyone else, that it'd be reliable.
It's quite reliable, but I thought that the range of focus was disappointing.
When you get close to the webcam, it gets blurry pretty quickly. To be honest, it's a wide problem. I found that to be true with Logitech products as well, which is why I had attempted a switch. The only webcam that has made me happy with macro is the IPEVO PoV, and that's because it's got a manual focus.
Why good focus is important: well, I chat a lot. But also, I sell some jewelry on eBay. My little beads aren't diamonds, so I have to be able to show a little tutorial on my bracelets with a webcam that'll get close enough as I'm explaining why I like my bracelets.
So verdict: ok for chatting, not too sturdy in my backpack, and focus range is disappointing, especially if you're considering showing objects up close. |

| Nothing says quality like "break out the velcro" |
I have a thinkpad Z61M and a dell 30" LCD, both of which are too thick to accommodate this webcam's standard mounting clamp. Seriously, if I have to use velcro to use it on these items I imagine it probably doesn't clamp to much outside of a Macbook air. Sigh. |
