Logitech 961608-0403 Quickcam Messenger

This is a great buy if you're just looking for a basic webcam for chats and so. The audio first of all is great. I've had no problems with that. It was easy to setup for immediate use. The clip for the monitor or laptop seems very practical, efficient and sturdy. I don't see it breaking or going bad in the foreseeable future. It definitely keeps the cam in place very well. Plus, it just looks great!

On the downaide, the video and picture quality is not the best, but for the price, it's acceptable.

The camera I received was not the one pictured online. I purposely ordered a model that came with a stand rather than one that clips to the monitor, but that's what I got instead. I decided to give it a try anyway. First, I found it difficult to get the camera to stay where I wanted it to since I just sits on top of the monitor - there's no way to affix it firmly in place and the weight of the usb cable tends to pull it down. Also, the video it created was very choppy and out of sync with the sound. The model I ordered was supposed to take video at 30fps - I do not know if the camera I received had that capture rate or not. Regardless, it was unacceptable. I boxed it up and sent it back.

i was looking for a fairly cheap webcam with nice quality. this webcan was it! you get a nice looking picture and the webcam itself does not cost you an arm and a leg. if you are looking for a Great little webcam than this ones for you

I am a bit confused with my order, it was shipped in a timely matter and came in good condition. There wasn't much to it, just the cam, instructions booklet, copy of my order, and the installation disk. Only thing is, this isn't the cam pictured here on the website. This cam has a clip instead of the flexible style of footing and the cam is black with a silver focus adjustment. I typed in the upc and that led me to the blue cam pictured here (what I had ordered) but I still do not know which product I have received, if it is a newer style of this one or something different. The cam looks like the one found here:

the only exception being that the face is not blue, but black and glossy.

On the other hand, the cam works quite well and I am satisfied with its performance. The microphone works as I had hoped and has good reception from 2 or more meters away. The video quality is not exceptional, but it is nice and clear, not grainy and it doesn't lag unless you are running a couple graphics intensive programs like a video game. Setup was quick and easy, all I had to do was plug in the cam, a pop-up window came up asking me to insert the disk, then just followed the instructions, restarted my computer and I was ready to go.

If you are looking for an expensive webcam, search some more...This Quickcam does not look like the picture (see the customer image instead), is cheaply made and is not very functional either. It will not stay on the base = hassle, especially if you want to use it with a laptop. The set up took some figuring out. The manual (even though it comes in 16 languages!) is not intuitive/detailed enough. The image quality is just OK. I have seen better since (other Skype users) and wish I bought something else...
