| Packed with features - solid interface |
This little guy has everything! Save that other DIN space for a cubbyhole. Don't think the screen is too small - your eyes should be on the road anyway. It speaks GPS directions to you! It's incredibly powerful and although professional installation is probably easiest, there are tons of forums on the net with advice that can help you do it yourself. I love this unit! |

| the worst customer service ever |
DO NOT BUY JVC. They broke my car radio after sending it in for minor service repairs. It came back scratched up & broke the usb port, & said too bad we didn't do it. |

| Small but full of Technology |
This is one hell of a unit. I have had it for 3months now and suffice it to say it has everything you could ever ask for. For example, if you decide to adjust the sound settings, watch out, you might rip your speakers or are you into satelite radios...it is Sirius and XM radio ready. Navigation is superb and as far as I am concerned, it is on par with my 2007 Yukon navigation system. I have watched full lenght movies on the screen with front passengers and connected video monitors on the headrests for rear passengers. There are so much more to this unit; bluetooth, MP3/ZUNE/IPOD adapter, 13million POI etc
I love it and will buy another if I ever have to. |

| Great system no support and no parts |
I purchased this system for my van, and it did everything I wanted in a Nav unit and more. The problem is I paid Best Buy to install it and it was installed with the antenna wire in front of the door hinge. This cut the wire and of course the unit will not navigate. No problem I will just order another antenna from JVC. I am finding out there are none. My system has been down for over 2 months waiting on parts. I was just told that the part may be available by October 31, 2007. This is August 31, 2007. Support suggestion to me was have the unit de-installed, return it to the distributor and get a new one. If I do return it, it will be for a refund and get another brand.
I did keep the unit and they did finally get my antenna installed. It has been about a year since my review and as an entertainment unit it is great as a navigation device it is sorely lagging behind even entry level portable models. I am finding the maps are outdated on the unit and there are no updates for download or purchase! That means in newer areas we sometime get a message we are off the route! I have contactd JVC and the instructed me to contact Navteq since they provide the map data. I did contact Navteq and they admitted they provide the map data to JVC but are not responsible for creating or distribution of disks for updates. That means I am relegated to using a $150 TomTom one to navigate in new areas where I live. Right now they do not know when or if there will be an upgrade for the unit other than the firmware upgrade they released last year. Advice, before purchasing this or any GPS device call the manufacturer and ask and verify if there are map upgrades and how often are they available. |
