| Keeping The Lid On Hope |
I once bought this product as an affectionate gag for my friend Hope (who I later decided belongs in a jar with the lid screwed down tight, but that's another story). However, this is a nice, not overly flowery, not horribly greasy moisturizing cream, good for daily use. |

| Not Bad, but not Great Either. |
I don't mind the smell like it seems others do. I actually prefer it because it doesn't smell like flowers, which tend to give me a headache.
The product does soak right into the skin, which is nice, but I noticed my face feeling rough the first few days I used it and lasting for almost two weeks, it was only upon stoping the product for a few days that I noticed my skin, in some areas, looks more even toned and smoother. So I am thinking the product does something to the top layer of skin, like maybe a dermabrasion effect, that can only be noticed after a few weeks, and only when taking a break from the product. I don't know, maybe I haven't used it long enough. I did have some sensitivity in my forehead area, but my skin is sensitive there anyway, I am only ok with that area if I just use Dove soap and Eucrine Lotion, for some reason those two products don't irritate, but they don't repair either. Ugh! LOL..well, I can just say, try it yourself, and see if the minimum benefits are good enough for you. I still use it from time to time, but if I know I have an affair to attent to, I hold off for a few days to get my skin past the abrasion phase. |

| Just not for me |
I use many Philosophy products, but the Hope in a Jar is one that I really do not care for. I mean it is okay, but nothing spectacular. Sometimes when I use it it breaks out my skin and then other times it seems to be okay. Then I have had times to where it has made my skin extremely oily. My makeup seems to disappear more when I have applied this under it. And I use Philosophy the supernatural airbrushed canvas makeup. I have tried other moisturizers and somehow will come back from time to time to see if anything has changed with Hope in a Jar. But more times than not, it just isn't for me. I do like the feel of it though. It feels silky and melts into the skin like water. Philosophy is and will stay one of my favorite make up lines. |

| Great for mineral makeup! |
I have SUPER sensitive skin and live in dry and windy Colorado. This product is terrific! It goes on smooth and my skin soaks it up instantly. I wear mineral makeup and some moisturizers you have to wait awhile for your skin to soak it in. I've never had that problem with this one, sometimes I even have to put on another layer it's gone so fast. My skin looks and feels 100% better almost immediately after use. I haven't had any issues reactions which is rare for my fair/sensitive skin but if you do have oily skin you should probably pass (it's so rich that it can occasionally cause minor breakouts). I don't understand all the comments about the smell? It doesn't bother me a bit because it's mild and doesn't linger around. I have found very few fragrance-free products so if that's your deal keep looking but otherwise it smells like any typical moisturizer containing soothing botanicals. There may be better moisturizers out there for the $$ but I have yet to find it so until then I will save my 5 stars. |

| Allergic reaction |
I bought this as a set, and at first I thought wow this feels really good.............and then............the problems started, itching burning, swelling. I only used it once, and my face was so uncomfortable, tiny little blister type spots and itchy rash.....what on earth is in this product. I never have allergies to moisturiser, and have tried many products but usually favour Clinique dramatically different. You may not have a reaction to it, personally I would not risk it. |
