| Great for cloth wipes or washcloths |
I got the Munchkin as a gift and when it rusted I took it back then I used the money to buy this on Amazon. I like this warmer it warms from the bottom the pillow replacements eliminate browning but I find that this warms a little too much for disposable wipes. Disposables are thin and can only hold so much moisture, browning happens when they dry out. I love SwaddleBees cloth wipes and they absorb and hold a lot of moisture and never dry out in this warmer.
This warmer is perfect for cloth wipes and with three kids (8, 4 and 4 months) who sometimes find creative ways to get messy I find it is great to have a moist pre-warmed cloth wipe ready for cleaning up the baby and her big brothers.
When my first son got to old for wipes I used this to warm up cloth wipes for make up removal (cheaper than buying make up removal cloths and no perfume to irrate my skin). This holds about 12 - 14 wet 8x8 SwaddleBees cloth wipes. I make sure the Everfresh pillow is wet and always use distilled water according to the instructions. I soak the cloth wipes in warm distilled water and fold them in half and put them in the warmer. This makes cleaning messy children so easy. |

| It Does Warm the Wipes, but... |
...yes, it's got flaws. We didn't need a wipe warmer with our daughter. She didn't mind the cold wipes. My son on the other hand was not going to stand for them at all. So at 6 days old, I broke down and ordered this for him. Wipes warmed up quickly and the refreshing pad does do the trick. My issues with this (and the reason I did not give it 5 stars) is that 1) My personal opinion is that it's too wet inside. It practically pours water off of the lid from all of the condensation. And 2) the pop-up lid stopped closing after 3 days of use. Knowing that this product had a history of this, I was determined to close the top gently so it didn't happen to ours. Well it did. I can see that the lip part of the lid isn't big enough to actually catch and keep it closed.
Is it worth taking a newborn and a toddler to the post office to return it for another one...no. I stuck some scotch tape on the pop-up top and just open it by the larger part of the lid. Problem solved. |

| Crazy Squeaky Lid |
This wipes warmer is pretty good when it comes to warming wipes, but the major problem is the funky lid. There's a button to open the lid and it pops open and has this squeaky "haunted house" door sound when it opens. The thing won't stay closed, so wipes will dry out. The first time the lid snapped open with that creepy squeaky sound, I was asleep and it just about scared the bejeezus out of me! Hubby also couldn't stand it anymore so we bought a Munchkin warmer instead. The Prince Lionheart does have the antimicrobial inside which is great, but the part where you pull out the wipes is tricky and we ended up having wipes get stuck and they'd rip when we went to pull them out.

| one of my best investments |
I used mine for a little more than 4 years, then passed it on to a friend. I too thought this was a waste of money, until the first time my boy screamed when I slapped a cold wipe on his bare little bottom...so off I went to purchase a wipes warmer. Even now I find myself running warm water on the toddler potty wipes before I help him, I certainly wouldn't want something cold there, you know. Also, I find baby wipes just out of the package somewhat dry; this warmer helps keep them very moist and warm, you must maintain it properly. Here's what I've discovered after 4 years; throw about 3/4 cup water once a week in the warmer, unplug it while on vacation, if the pad at the bottom gets "yucky" simply wash it with warm water, a bit of mild soap, squeeze it while washing, it comes pretty clean and takes only a minute once every couple months. At the same time clean out the warmer, just wipe it clean, no big deal. I only used 5 replacement pads in 4 yrs. If your child doesn't mind cold wipes, wonderful! one less thing to buy; I know you could hold wipes in your hand for a few seconds to warm them a bit, but there were messy times when I couldn't get wipes out fast enough to use. Huggies don't fit right, Pampers and most generic brands do.
